card making

Well after some winter blues I finally felt inspired to make some cards and started with a few of my favourite things - cakes, cats, best of British, love and friends.

I had purchased ages ago a number of Hunkeydory packages, such as cards for children, ladies and favourite things, also the Kanban celebration of Britain.  These packs come with toppers and matching card and sentiments that you can then put together with a few bits of your own such as card blanks, gems, and glitter, matting and layering all the bits together until you make yourself smile.

The children's cards were fun to make as they included a nice selection of ideas from cute to fun.  The card and toppers have a nice combination of shape, patten and also foiling.

I was able to add a few little bits and am loving my new glue pen and glitter, also my glitter gel pen with either clear, silver or gold star.
I then got into the celebration of all things British, after the high of 2012 with all the great events that made us all forget the rain and feel proud of ourselves and our country. So i decided to go all red white and blue for a bit.

I was going through my craft cupboard which seems to fill itself. I find it so hard to resist buying pretty card, papers, toppers or embellishments. They make me smile, sometimes a card just pops into my head when I see them or a person.
This time I found some Docraft Heartwarmers, some flowers, champagne flutes and dresses. Also some embossed and cut papers and card I had made using my Joy machine. I decided to make some cards to say hello to some friends.

Luckily for us in twelve months we will be celebrating with five wonderful couples, their love and commitment to share their lives together. I love a wedding they always leave me with such a warm feeling of comfort, love and hope for the future. Plus they are simply so much fun.

Well so far 2013 has been a year that looks like we will have lots to celebrate, lots to share and lots make.
